Remodeling Your Bathroom On A Budget? Follow These Tips

Blog

Do you want to remodel your home's bathroom, but you don't want to spend a lot of money doing it? Consider the following tips that won't break the bank.

Do Not Move Your Plumbing

Do you have ideas about adding a second shower head or changing the position of the sink? If so, know that moving plumbing is going to be a costly renovation that will quickly increase the cost of your bathroom remodeling project. Try to keep everything as close to your existing plumbing as possible to ensure that your expenses are kept to a minimum.

Replace Just The Countertop

If you are looking to change up the look of your bathroom vanity, but the current vanity is still in great shape, consider replacing just the countertop. You can easily transform the look of the bathroom by changing up the material or color of the countertop, which should be an easy swap as long as everything remains the same size.

Reline Your Bathtub

One of the reasons that you may want to remodel your bathroom is to get rid of that old bathtub that looks horrible after years of use. Unfortunately, a new bathtub can be quite expensive. An alternative solution is to reline your bathtub. The new liner will be made of acrylic or PVC, and it can be fit to the exact shape of your existing tub. It will give it a brand new finish that makes it look like a new tub, but for a fraction of the total cost.

Use Pinterest

If you haven't checked out Pinterest when taking on a home remodeling project, now is the time to do it. You can get plenty of creative ideas that will transform a bathroom without spending that much money. For example, you can create a wood frame that goes around a simple bathroom mirror that ties into the rest of the bathroom's colors. Look around for ideas and see what is practical, and discuss them with your bathroom remodeling service.

Swap Out The Hardware

One easy way to make old cabinets and vanities look new is to swap out the hardware. Your bathroom doesn't have nearly as much hardware as your kitchen, so changing a few knobs to something that is nice and elegant can really make the bathroom feel different. It's a small change, but it can make a big impact when you reach for that hardware every single day.

Understanding Remodeling Decisions

After I started focusing seriously on making my home look and feel brand new, it occurred to me that I needed to do something to make things even better. I started working with a team of remodeling contractors, and although I didn't always understand their decisions, it became apparent pretty quickly that they understood what they were doing. They worked with us each and every day to make things right, and I was really impressed with their level of professionalism. Check out this blog for great information on understanding remodeling decisions each and every time you complete a new project.
